Postbox is een e-mailclient die zijn oorsprong kent in Mozilla's Thunderbird. De ontwikkelaars hebben daar tal van mogelijkheden en verbeteringen aan toegevoegd en het is mogelijk om de functionaliteit met extensies verder uit te breiden. Hierbij moet wel worden vermeld dat de add-ons voor Thunderbird niet zonder aanpassingen gebruikt kunnen worden. Postbox ondersteunt pop3, imap en smtp op zowel Mac OS X als Windows; over een Linux-variant wordt op dit moment nog nagedacht. De ontwikkelaars hebben enkele dagen geleden versie 1.1.2 uitgebracht, voorzien van de volgende aankondiging en lijst met veranderingen:

Postbox 1.1.2 contains several other improvements, such as faster Gmail access for both Windows and Mac, so please review our release notes for the full list of changes.
