Opera heeft dinsdag weer een nieuwe bètarelease uitgebracht van zijn volgende generatie van de gelijknamige webbrowser. Het versienummer van deze zogenaamde 'development snapshot' is 10.0 build 1589. Opera is gratis te gebruiken en bevat features als tabbed browsing, een popupblocker en een e-mailprogramma met spamfilter. Updates kunnen automatisch worden opgehaald, mits DownloadAllSnapshots in de configuratie is ingeschakeld. Dit geldt ook voor upgraden vanaf versie 9.6x, hoewel het maken van een backup van de configuratie nog steeds wordt aangeraden.
De belangrijkste verandering in deze release is de introductie van Opera Unite, een nieuwe manier om bestanden met andere webbrowsergebruikers te delen.
