Mandriva is ontstaan nadat Mandrakesoft het Braziliaanse Connectiva eind februari had overgenomen en begin april zijn naam wijzigde naar Mandriva. Hierbij werd ook de Linux-distributie Mandrakelinux van naam veranderd en gaat deze tegenwoordig als Mandriva Linux door het leven. Deze distributie is zeer geschikt voor de beginnende Linux-gebruiker door het gebruik van een grafische interface tijdens de installatie en de wizards om het besturingssysteem te configureren.
De eerste release candidate van Mandriva Linux 2007 is sinds kort beschikbaar en met de onderstaande aankondiging op de wereld gezet. De complete lijst met veranderingen is op deze pagina na te lezen.
Mona, or Máni, God of the Moon, has been unleashed by Warly and the team. On the race to Mandriva Linux 2007, it’s the first release candidate. Miam.
Now that Tyr was put to sleep, there have been some changes:Yes yes yes, new backgrounds.
- New Ia Ora Theme also available under KDE
- New backgrounds integrated
- The network module b44 should be fixed
- The default web page for the web browser should display correctly
