Asus has provided a good motherboard in the P3V4X. It proved about as stable as the Abit VA6 when overclocking the same CPU, being more stable in some situations and less so in others. This may not be the ideal setup for the hard core gamer- the BX chipset still seems to offer the best overall performance for gaming, and the P3V4X's inability to run 3DMark 2000 at 733+MHz is also a negative for those looking for a 3D gaming solution. But for the graphics pro looking to build an economy/hobbyist box, the P3V4X looks like a good call. It is stable, expandable and fast, provides the ever-important four DIMM slots, and offers good overclocking options in the BIOS. It proved quite stable in graphics and 3D applications at high speeds, including settings that proved incapable of running 3DMark 2000 reliably.
