Being a hardcore gamer and fan of 3D performance, it is no wonder why my favorite and trusted 3D chipset manufacturer is 3dfx. Time and time again, this company has been at the forefront of performance design with regards to video acceleration, and because of this many board manufacturers have been highly successful in selling products based on 3dfx's video chipsets and reference board designs. I was skeptical when other chipset makers started touting design specs that not only equaled but also surpassed those of the tried and trusted brand.
