When it comes to DDR memory, the more complex the graphics, the bigger the potential payoff. Likewise, the larger your DDR memory pool, the faster you'll be able to chug through complex scenes. In order to show the advantages of DDR memory over SDR, and 64MB of DDR over 32MB, we pitted two nVidia reference boards against Dell's GeForce Plus.As you can see from the benchmarks below, the difference in performance between SDR and DDR GeForce boards translates into about 13 more fps in Quake III at 1024x768 and 2.9fps at 1280x1024. The Dell GeForce Pro's 64MB of DDR memory opens up high resolutions in Quake III, yielding an amazingly playable 30fps at 1280x1024 and a somewhat bearable 19.3fps at 1600x1200. The difference is even more staggering in 3DMark 2000.
