The Agfa initially caught our attention because of its superb image quality. It was so good, in fact, that you could probably scan an image using this model and use it in a report or a Web page without having to touch it up it in any way whatsoever. But the machine's excellent image quality alone isn't its only impressive feature. For a start, it looks great, at least when it's actually scanning, due to the semi-transparent casing. It is also easy to use, thanks to its clear, no-nonsense TWAIN module, and its hand-holding online help facilities. Installing this scanner in the first place is also a fairly simple process, although we felt it could have been improved. Admittedly, the SnapScan isn't one of the fastest scanners we examined, at least not when dealing with photographic images, but the image quality is well worth the wait. The Agfa isn't one of the least expensive either, but at just £20 more than the cheapest model it is still great value for money, considering all of its positive qualities.
Fiets naar ZDNet voor de hele review.
