On Monday, Gateway (NYSE: GTW) will resurrect its Gateway Select line of PCs with new models that offer AMD's Athlon processor.The Select PC line, which will be for consumers and small businesses, will offer a range of Athlon speeds, sources said. However, details on the exact configurations and pricing were not available at press time.
The announcement will give consumers a wider range of choice among vendors from which they can purchase Athlon-based PCs. At the same time, it renews the relationship between AMD (NYSE: AMD) and Gateway, giving Gateway a second source for high-performance PC processors.
