On our Pentium II 400 the Marvel cards were the only ones which let us capture full motion video at full PAL D1 resolution. The image quality of the captured video files is very good, most of all when you capture at full PAL resolution with little to average compression. At about 1.7 Mb per second it will be hard to tell the difference between the image from the DVD disc and the captured image from the Marvel.For those that want to use the Marvel to rip DVD's to harddrive I'm afraid I have some bad news. The Matrox drivers continuously look for Marcovision on the input signal and as soon as copy protected content is detected it will stop encoding.
