Wow, Ace's Hardware heeft best wel heftige info van een (hopelijk betrouwbaar) mannetje bij AMD. Volgens deze bron halen de 0,18 micron koper-interconnect Athlon's, die op dit moment in Dresden gesampled worden, al kloksnelheden van 1,2GHz!
Well, our sources close to AMD are telling us good and bad news.The good news: a good percentage of .18 micron Athlon's (Al) are yielding 1 GHz. A decent amount of Copper Athlons (better take a seat) are already hitting 1.2 GHz!! Again, Yields are way better than expected. The Thunderbird seems to be ahead of schedule too (no details right now).
The bad news: the K6-2+ and K6-III+ continue to have problems to yield at higher speeds (533 MHz+). Oh well, you can't have it all.
