Extreme Hardware heeft een review online gezet van de optische Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer. Yup, alweer eentje:
Not only does the more accurate feel of the mouse help my game, the two thumb buttons provide some much needed help with grenades in TFC. You can use the IntelliMouse software to designate the thumb buttons as a keyboard function, such as page up and page down. Afterwards, you can assign an action in any game to those keyboard functions and use the thumb buttons in the game. For me in TFC, I had the two types of grenades bound to the two thumb buttons, which made for tossing one much easier. It also helped me learn to concussion jump with the medic and scout much faster since I felt more comfortable with the grenades at thumb reach. I’ve mostly talked about TFC, but this goes for all the games I’ve played: Rogue Spear, Quake II, Age of Empires, etc… The IntelliMouse Explorer's precise movements and additional buttons helped me in every game that I played.Does it have any problems? For those people who turn with a quick flick of the mouse, there have been reports of the mouse not being able to keep up. I, for one, have done it many of times, but have not experienced that problem. Of course, I mostly play with steady small movements and have the mouse sensitivity turned high. If you’re a quick flicker, you might want to go to a store with one setup to a computer and play around with it for a bit to see if it loses its tracking. Also as I mentioned earlier, some people might accidentally bump into the thumb buttons when moving the mouse. However, it’s not a problem unless you have the two bound to some action command.
