PC Rave heeft een interview gepost met Rich Black, PR manager van nVidia. Hier een stukje:
PCRave: The pixel fill rate of the GeForce 256 isn't substantially higher than the TNT2 Ultra with 150mhz core with 300 megapixels/s or 175mhz core with 350 megapixels/s fill rate. What is NVIDIA's stance on pixel fill rate and why isn't the pixel fill rate near 50% greater like we have seen in the past with the RIVA chipsets? (~100mp/s Riva 128/ZX, ~180mp/s TNT, ~250-350 mp/s TNT2)NVIDIA: The jump from the RIVA128/ZX to the TNT/TNT2 was huge - the jump from the TNT/TNT2 to the GeForce is as revolutionary. There are more things to consider than just the fill rate numbers, overall performance and ability to render much more scene complexity (much greater than 50% increase) are the greatest strengths of GeForce256.
