Though I don't see it yet posted on their website, today Quantum will announce the succesor to the Leaderboard-rated Atlas IV. Quantum's latest 7200rpm SCSI unit, the Atlas V, increases its specs across the board. Seek time has been shaved to 6.3ms. The drive packs over 9 gigs of data per platter. Buffer size has been increaed to 4 megs.The drive is slated for 1Q 2000 availability, in capacities of 9.1 GB, 18.2 GB, and 36.4 GB.
