Cooling is a definite plus for this case. Having the sole intention to serve as a server case requires the computer to be up and running 24 hours a day! As anyone would figure, this can produce quit a bit of heat. Well, Supermicro has taken that situation well into consideration. Set at its manufacturers setting, there are three fans in the case, aside from the power supply fan. There is one intake fan, located near the bottom, one fan located above the CPU's position and one exhaust fan right above the power supply. Now three fans may not seem like an 'awe-inspiring' cooling setup, but the expansion possibilities is what attracts attention. There is a preset space in the case for 5 more fans (four 80mm, one 92mm). These can be places along side of the 5.25" drive bays, near the front bezel, towards the back and just about anywhere you'd like to put a fan. They include covers, which makes the safety issue a very good one! Cooling with this case is very easy and Supermicro has basically marked the path you need to take in order to cool your case
