We found that we got very positive results with the unit on CPUs that we knew in advance were limited solely by heat from hitting higher MHz speeds. Unfortunately our sensitive P3-600 CPUs refused to budge, even under the cooling effect of the MC1000.Several people have speculated that the P3-600's .25 micron Katmai core is pushed to the absolute edge of the envelope while running at 600MHz and to attempt any higher than 650MHz is wishful thinking. Of the four P3-600 units we've tested to date, all were retail versions and none cracked the 660MHz barrier regardless of the cooling system utilized while retaining full system stability.
We were able to get two of the four P3-600s to run benchmarks, but they'd lock up almost immediately during or right after, the first short run.
We measured a temperature variance when using the MC1000 between a low of -1 degree C when the CPU was totally idle, to a maximum of 9 degrees C after completing the final Prime95 Torture Test.
