ComChip heeft een kleine stukkie geschreven over Ome Bill's Windows 2000. Je kunt het artikel hier vinden.
Actually there is a reason why it makes your system slower. With Windows 95, you get DOS and Windows built in, plug and play support and plus you get more features than Windows 3.11. Same case with Windows 2000, you get a system that's a lot more stable, and a password system that actually works, this is practicularly important when you are using it in a company. You don't want other people to go into your computer and mess up your reports just to get you firedConfiguring NT 4.0 was also another way to quickly lose your hair, as again you are pulling your hair out just trying to find all the configuration tools which are scattered all over the place. With Windows 2000, most of the tools are found in the Control Panel which made me say "Finally".
There is finally a device manager in Windows 2000 that won't make everyone pull their hair out when they are trying to install something. I'm surprise that it took the programmers at Microsoft to figure out that the Windows 98 device manager style of managing drivers is more user-friendly and organized than the NT style. A hardware wizard was also added, which helps you install the drivers of your new hardware.
Finally there is an option to boot in safe mode, so if a key driver dies, you can actually try to fix it as opposed to re-install everything.
