Het volk van The Heatsink Guide heeft een Celeron heatsink comparison bij elkaar geschreven. In het artikel vind je ook wat info over de temperatuursverschillen bij gebruik van een thermal pad (zoals op bijv. Coolermaster heatsinks) of (kankerverwekkende!?) thermal compound:
Except for the CoFan KC-266, the tested heatsinks all come with a small thermal interface pad, which is supposed to improve the heat transfer from the CPU core to the heatsink. How good is such a pad? Well, it's certainly better than no interface material at all, and convenient for mass production, since no additional thermal compound needs to be applied.
However, for the overclocker, I don't recommand these pads, since they are not nearly as good as thermal compound. The importance of the interface material is often underestimated - and that is a huge mistake! In fact, a single fan heatsink, along with good thermal compound, will often provide better performance than a dual fan heatsink with a thermal pad!
