Riva TNT-2, Riva TNT and Rage 128 have the best image quality, because of 32 bit rendering support and the better definition of the image than 3dfx's chips; also Savage 4 images are of highest quality, comparable to Riva TNT one. My personal opinion is that differences between the best images (taken at 32 bit rendering) and the worst ones (16 bit with 3dfx chips) are evident, but that you've also to consider the smoothness of the action reproduced and find the correct balance between these two aspects; I believe it's a question of points of views and the final advice is to try and find out, if possibile, what's best for you, playing some 3D games with both 3dfx based cards and the "32 bit rendering" generation of video chips.
