One last highlight about the board is the optical S/PDIF - output that it carries. This port, which was not present on the shipping version of the MX300 (now available through an upgrade), allows for the connection of Mini-Disk or other digital sound source for true digital recordings. I you have an AC3 ready receiver, you can also use the port to connect to your home sound system for some very impressive sound.
