The third test with a "defective disk" has once and for all stated the rating positions. Toshiba remained on the first place having left all the rest very far behind. And the last positions deserved Creative DVD2240E (which was, actually, quite predictable) and Creative DVD5240E together with Matsushita SR-8583 (which was like a bolt from the blue). I couldn't believe my eyes and carried out this test 10 times! for each DVD-ROM. It seemed impossible but Toshiba easily coped with all the scratches, which were a serious obstacle for all the other drives, without reducing its speed! And Creative gave me a personal offence because I have been a true Creative admirer and tried to persuade everybody that it has no match in terms of defective disks reading.
