Gigabyte gaat samen met QDI Legend

Gigabyte, producent van moederborden, barebone systemen en netwerk-producten zal in de toekomst nauw samen gaan werken met Legend, een grote maatschappij die onder andere PC's, notebooks, servers, handhelds, internet-diensten en moederborden levert. De bedrijven willen zich richten op de Chinese markt en verder wereldwijd aan OEM klanten leveren:

According to the agreement, Legend and Gigabyte will inject their motherboard factories in Huiyang and Dongguan respectively into the joint venture. The total investment is estimated to be HK$250 million. Legend and Gigabyte will both hold 50% equity in the joint venture.

The Board of Directors of the joint venture will compose of a total of 6 representatives, 3 from each of Legend and Gigabyte. The joint venture will have a production capacity of 9 million motherboards per annum. This new venture will initially focus on producing motherboards for Legend QDI and Gigabyte but will move towards developing a worldwide OEM customer base in the future.
