Bij Envy News is een review verschenen van het MC3 apparaat van Kodak. Dit apparaat draagt in Nederland een prijskaartje van 699 gulden en kan voor dit geld foto’s schieten, MP3’s afspelen en video’s opnemen en afspelen. Volgens de reviewer is het apparaat vooral goed in de laatste twee activiteiten, de compressie van de foto’s is te hoog en close-up foto’s kan je wel vergeten. Maar als je de MC3 koopt voor de video en/of MP3 functionaliteit is het een prima apparaatje. Zeker niet perfect, maar wel vriendelijk geprijsd:
For the dollar vs. bang value, this device is steal if you’re keen on the idea of taking digital video. Having used it heavily over the last three weeks, I’d have to say that the MC3 is a digital video camera, with an excellent MP3 player built-in, and a ‘so-so’ still capability. If you’re buying it strictly for the MP3 value, it’s also a great buy. However, if your motive is to purchase it for its digital still photography value, then you’re being misled by either this article or an external party. The MC3 is either a great MP3 player with an awesome digital video capturing feature, or an awesome digital video camera with a great MP3 player feature built-in. Kodak should have left out the digital still feature or bolstered with an option to decrease the compression and thus the artefacts. I can only hope that Kodak will release a newer firmware upgrade that will address this issue. Until then, I’m very happy with my Kodak MC3 Digital Video Camera.
