Logitech plans to ship a force-feedback mouse for gaming, based on FEELit technology from Immersion Corp.The mouse will be available at street prices under $150, in time for the Christmas 1999 selling season.
According to the company, the vast majority of PC games sold today are designed for control by a mouse, or mouse-plus-keyboard combination. With the introduction of the force-feedback mouse, developers will now be able to provide feel sensations in all kinds of games, including first-person, real-time strategy, role-playing, adventure, sports, simulation, strategy, war, hunting, classics, puzzles and edutainment titles.
