So how's the performance of this relatively unknown cooler? Being impressive-looking doesn't really count if it doesn't get the job done! It registers an idle temperature of 41°C and a load temperature of 44°C! That's right on par with the ArctiCooler that we tested here previously! I'm thinking that the stock fan of the heatsink is not doing enough to take away the heat from the heatsink. A better or maybe noisier fan should do the trick!
But for a newcomer to the HSF biz, the performance of the ThermoEngine is pretty good. Not really stellar, but still good. It's not available here yet in Singapore so dun really have any infos on how much it'll cost, but I'm thinking of about the same price as the Taisol, SuperOrb or at most the ArctiCooler. And since it measures just a tad bigger than the Socket A itself, this cooler will fit any mobo you throw at it without worrying about any blockage. ThermoSonic has one good performer here in my opinion considering the fact that their are new to the HSF business. Let's just hope the retail version performs like this one or maybe even better!
