Lost Circuits zorgde ervoor dat we vandaag een review kunnen lezen over een i815E moederbord van Shuttle. De AE22 is de grote broer van de microATX ME21. Het bord is voorzien van 6 PCI, AGP en 3 DIMM slots. De plank was niet bijster snel en liet zich ook niet geweldig overklokken door gebrek aan voltage instellingen en een foutje in het BIOS waardoor de FSB niet goed werd ingesteld, maar het was wel stabiel:
Yes, I know, this is another review of yet another i815E based board, so why bother. The market has been swamped with these boards and they all have one thing in common, they are very similar. Not quite, there are some boards that are tuned solely for performance, there are others aiming at stability under overclocked conditions and there is the last category which is mostly a mainboard around the chipset.
[...] That doesn't mean that the board cannot be improved. Among the easiest things to do would be to clean out the incorrect settings in the BIOS and substitute the correct values for the wrong FSB settings. Sure enough, many people still buy their computers according to the clock speed but the backside of the coin is that in a competitive world, even nominally high clock speed cannot mask the performance weakness if the board runs actually slower than specified.
