For regular home use it could also be considered. I believe what Logitech would like you to achieve from this mouse is what I call a "familiarity feel" for certain tasks. For example, just as when you were first given a mouse, you would often overshoot the icons. You later learned how far you needed to move your mouse to hit the icon based on practice and familiarity. The same could also be true for the iFeel Mouse. Overtime you may learn the feel of certain tasks making it easier. Personally, after using it over two weeks it didn't really help me at all, it was just something different.
Putting the "feeling" portion of the mouse aside, the optical aspect of the mouse was great compared to some optical mice.
One thing that I found about optical mice is that the surface of your mouse pad is everything. For example, I had one mouse pad that had a shiny surface; but if you looked at it closely, the surface was spotted and shinier at points. This made the mouse not glide as smoothly as on other surfaces.
