Keep our next few statements in mind as you go through the products that we felt were worthy of an award. We have experienced a myriad of computer products over the last three hundred sixty six days (it was leap year) and have had the opportunity to look at what works best, what works OK, and what sometimes simply did not work at all. This time we get to interject our opinion and tell you what we like. Yeppers, that is correct. This is basically a list of the stuff we like and use. Will you be able to find folks with different opinions? Of course you will. You will even find some products here that have had some problems, but they still made our list. Why? Because those problems got FIXED, and we have found that product support can sometimes be more important than the initial performance of the product itself. Anyways, enjoy our roundup for the year 2000.
[...]Worst Situation of the Year. There is no doubt that Intel has to walk away with this one in the wake of the recall of their 1.13GHz PIII processor. While they did put themselves into the worst situation of the year, they also handled it with honor and integrity with a willingness to address the problem. This is in sharp contrast with some companies that might run around denying that such a problem even existed. How can we be so sure of this? Well, we were directly involved in the circumstances that lead up to the recall. Kudos to Intel for admitting when they were wrong, and looking out for the consumers that would have purchased that CPU otherwise.
