Obviously, we don't have a large pool of coolers to compare the Thermaltake to, but in day to day operations and through horrendous stress tests, the Thermaltake worked brilliantly on the 1.4 and 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 chips. Whether this success will be able to carry onto the 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 GHz and beyond is of a complete unknown. Although, this is the first generation P4 cooler from Thermaltake, it seems very likely that they will do some tweaks to their design and put out future versions of the P4 Orb with more cooling potential.
We're still waiting to see coolers (or specs, at least) for P4 coolers from big names like Alpha and Globalwin, which will most likely give the P4 Orb a run for it's money. If you were to run out and buy a P4 rig right now, the P4 Orb is a plenty good choice for 1.5 GHz and below.
