The Strategic Commander also allows you to navigate around the screen without having to move the mouse to the edge of the screen. This can turn into a huge tactical advantage by allowing you to move around the map while keeping the mouse free to select units or buildings simultaneously. You can also zoom in and out and rotate the screen 360 degrees in 3D games that support that style of camera movement such as Earth 2150 or Dark Reign 2, or Homeworld. Changing camera angles in a 3D RTS game can be clumsy at best, but the Strategic Commander makes it flawless and easy.
[...] The ease of use and the ability to integrate the Strategic Commander into existing games is exceptional. My only issue is that it’s a little hard to give up the keyboard when you’re so used to it. I had to force myself to use the Strategic Commander to it’s fullest potential and to keep my hands from going to the keyboard whenever I couldn’t remember where something was programmed to. Once I got used to it however, the Strategic Commander played better than all white meat chicken tastes.
