AOpen AX34 Pro II review

Hard|OCP heeft een lap tekst online gezet waarin de AOpen AX34 Pro II 'Black Beauty' word gereviewd. Naast deze stoere naam en de opvallende zwarte kleur heeft dit Socket370 bordje ook een aantal leuke features, zoals de mogelijkheid om het die hard BIOS te gebruiken en een extra grote heatsink op de chipset. Verder zijn alle dingen die een tweaker nodig heeft op dit bord te vinden: FSB tot 150MHz, VCore instellingen, Hardware Monitoring, AGP4x, UDMA 100 etc. Dit alles kan natuurlijk zonder jumpers worden ingesteld. Dat AOpen dit bord echt voor overklokkers gemaakt heeft blijkt wel uit de handleiding:

Is dit een big sized chipset cooler? Mmm, vreemd, lijkt mij niet zo noemenswaardig groot, eerlijk gezegd.

Dit moederbord ziet er uitermate cool uit, dus weer een reden om je kast open te laten, zodat iedereen hem kan zien.

Het performance/stabiliteit verschil tussen verschillende moederbord fabrikanten zijn zo klein dat er gezocht wordt naar een andere vorm van meerwaarde. Deze kan er zijn door meerdere processoren te supporten, extra overclock opties, of gewoon een ander kleurtje.
De markt is hard, en als je je niet onderscheid, dan ben je een van de velen...Je moet juis opvallen.....(in positieve zin uiteraard)

hij support ook p2 zijn er ook s370/fcpga p2's dan? Ik dacht dat die alleen slot1 waren....

ziet igg strak uit. powerconnect weg van de socket. Misschien zit alleen die condensator bij de linker onderhoek van de socket beetje in de weg...

Ik moet zeggen dat ik het bordje nog goedkoop vind ook. Als je bekijkt dat Intel een bord (Easton met intel 815 cjipset) rap een eind duurder is.

Ik was deze review aan het lezen en daar stond dat Kyle hem niet hoger kreeg dan 144mhz fsb.

ook zei hij dat hoogste FSB 150 is, maar in zijn review zegt ie:

Beetje raar toch, ik vond trouwens dat Aopen wel een mooi stukje in manual van dit bordje heeft gezet. Moet je toch durven

Het is toch raar dat ze een bord speciaal maken voor tweakers. Niks ten nadele hoor van Aopen, maar zo'n grote groep is het helemaal niet. Want zoveel tweakers zijn er niet, en dan kopen ze bij lange na niet allemaal dit plankje.

Het is commerciëel gezien volgens mij een veel diepere stap, en willen ze de naamsbekendheid een beetje vergroten door een nieuwe groep aan te boren. Want met de tweakers kunnen ze het geld niet verdienen :"(

Maar de naamsbekendheid onder tweakers was toch al heel groot. Misschien is het zo dat de tweakers voor hun vrienden/familie daarna een Aopen moederbord aanraden omdat ze daar goede ervaringen mee hebben als Merk.

Maar een de doelgroep van familie/vrienden van tweakers die aangeraden worden om zo'n bord te kopen is ook héél klein omdat die mensen meestal toch een Vobis pc'tje kopen en al helemaal niet beginnen om een moederbord te vervangen, eventueel misschien als er een bekend persoon bij kan komen wat geheugen er bij prikken, maar dan houd het wel op.

Als dit zo'n overclock mobo voor tweakers is, waarom zit er dan een gedeeld PCI / CNR slot op en geen gedeeld PCI / ISA slot??

Immers oc'ers en tweakers gebruiken zeker geen CNR, maar soms wel nog ISA
