CDRInfo.com schrijft dat we nog dit jaar 16x compatible 650MB CD-R schijfjes kunnen verwachten van het Koreaanse SKC. Volgens de geruchten zal Yamaha als eerste een 16x brander op de markt brengen waardoor het schrijven van een dergelijke CD slechts 4 en een halve minuut duurt

The CD-R market is growing at an annual rate of 20 percent to 4.5 billion units worldwide, and is mostly dominated by Japanese and Taiwanese companies.
