Motorola will develop devices that integrate its microcontroller products with a recently develop IR device specifically for use in Logitech equipment that will incorporate Bluetooth technology for the first time. Fremont, Calif.-based Logitech is a leader in cordless mice, trackballs, game controllers, keyboards, video cameras, and multimedia speakers.
"Right now Logitech uses a proprietary standard in their devices, but by using Bluetooth it will provide them with a wireless solution that has a lot more capability that will be found in many products, as opposed to a proprietary link," said Linda Billhymer, market manager in Motorola's Personal Networks Group in Chicago.
