Installed into the fast PCI interface bus, the QikDRIVE8 features eight memory slots, each capable of accommodating up to 1GB of Platypus's ECC SDRAM.
Each QikDRIVE is fully upgradeable using Platypus Technology upgrades. For large server applications, multiple QikDRIVE products can be used if the additional PCI slots are available. The QikDRIVE8 is compatible with an increasingly wide range of operating systems (OS) ranging from Windows, NT, Linux, Free BSD and Mac, and utilizes these OS's standard SCSI driver installation and management features.
FEATURES
Provides users with up to a mighty 8GB of high speed solid state storage and work space. Takes full advantage of the PCI bus offering a sustained data throughput speed of up to 110 MBps. Multiple QikDRIVE boards can be installed depending on availability of PCI slots. Independent power supply ensures maintenance of data while host machine is powered down. Optional Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). Is able to be partitioned into specific sections for swap space, software programs or data files. Supports a growing number of operating systems including Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4.0, Linux Red Hat 6.0 and Free BSD.
