My personal opinion is that John has earned the notoriety that he receives, and I'm not sure that many designers in this industry would turn away Rolling Stone or Time Magazine from the door. I think a lot of this type of criticism amounts to little more than professional jealousy. Gamers love John, and he is one of the most accessible personalities in the industry. While other developers let their publishers demo their products at trade shows, John is there, answering questions and talking to whoever shows an interest in his work. Anyone who spends any time around him will see that he's a warm and generous person who has a great deal of confidence in his abilities.
