Op deze lege zondagmiddag verblijdt TweakMax ons met een artikeltje over het overclocken van een P3 600E op een AOpen AX6BC Pro Gold moederbord. Omdat dit figuur al verwachte dat hij minimaal 800MHz zou halen, is hij maar gelijk op die snelheid begonnen. Ietsje hoger lukte ook nog: uiteindelijk kwam hij uit op 828 MHz (138 MHz FSB) met de default Vcore setting (1.65 V). Eerder rapporteerde Tresh's Firing Squad dat zij op een BX-moederbord niet verder kwamen dan 124MHz FSB. Thumbs up, TweakMax! Al weer een goed resultaat voor een BX-bord, dus. Vandaag kwam bij iXBT de BX-chipset op 133MHz ook al als beste uit de bus.
Coppermines are damn fun to overclock even if you have a pretty outdated BX motherboard. The only bad thing is that you have to keep a lot of things in mind and maybe even swap some components to make it all the way. This is the main reason to why you always must be a step ahead when you're buying your computer components. Even though you might not need PC133 memory modules at the time when you're buying them, you will for sure have use of them later. You can't have enough speed and of course I'm considering getting a brand new video card since the boost of the 3D Graphics compared with my old system wasn't really fantastic.
