De ontwikkelaars van Debian GNU/Linux hebben versie 5.0 van het opensourcebesturingssysteem vrijgegeven. De nieuwe versietak van Debian heeft codenaam 'Lenny' meegekregen en is vanaf deze pagina voor een groot aantal platformen te downloaden. Versie 5.0 is voorzien van onder andere Linux-kernel 2.6.26, KDE 3.5.10, Gnome 2.22.2, OpenOffice.org 2.4.1 en Gimp 2.4.7. Verder zitten er ook nog PostgreSQL 8.3.6, MySQL 5.0.51a, Apache 2.2.9 en PHP 5.2.6 in de distributie. Hieronder zijn de release notes van de Lenny-uitvoering van Debian gepost:
