De gemiddelde computergebruiker zal niet onbekend zijn met Skype, het programma waarmee gratis gesprekken kunnen worden gevoerd met andere Skype gebruikers en tegen een minimale vergoeding naar een "echte" telefoon. Sinds eind augustus is er een versie voor het MacOS X-platform in ontwikkeling en deze is zojuist het bètastadium ontgroeid.
