Software-update: UniGetUI 2026.2.3

Versie 2026.2.3 van UniGetUI is uitgekomen. Dit programma wordt tegenwoordig door Devolutions uitgegeven, bekend van onder meer Remote Desktop Manager en diverse andere beveiligingsproducten, en dient als grafische gebruikersinterface voor de bekendste softwarebeheerprogramma's, waaronder Winget, Chocolatey, Scoop, Pip en Npm. Met die packagemanagers kan software vanaf de commandline worden geïnstalleerd, bijgewerkt en verwijderd worden en UniGetUI maakt dat dus eenvoudiger. Het programma is opensource, beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en macOS, in veel talen te gebruiken waaronder in het Nederlands, heeft een donker thema en geeft notificaties als er nieuwe versies van geïnstalleerde programma's beschikbaar zijn. De changelog voor deze uitgave ziet er als volgt uit:

Opgepast als je WinGet gebruikt als bron voor je packages, met deze update lijkt dat niet meer te werken en zie je geen geïnstalleerde packages.

[Bor]

Een vervelende bug. Zo te zien is er al een fix "ready for release". Ik moet zeggen dat de applicatie (met uitzondering van deze bug) wel stabieler lijkt te zijn sinds de overname door Devolutions. Updates van UnigetUI zelf lopen soepeler en ook gaan installaties van updates minder vaak fout. Ik ben redelijk positief over de overname.
