Software-update: Kdenlive 26.04.1

Versie 26.04.1 van Kdenlive is uitgekomen. Kdenlive, een afkorting voor KDE Non-Linear Video Editor, is een geavanceerd, niet-lineair videobewerkingsprogramma en wordt voornamelijk ontworpen voor Linux, maar er zijn ook downloads voor Windows en macOS. Het maakt gebruik van diverse andere opensourceprojecten, zoals FFmpeg en het MLT-videoframework. De releasenotes voor deze uitgave kunnen hieronder worden gevonden.

Kdenlive 26.04.1 released

Kdenlive 25.04.1 is now available, containing several fixes and improvements. Fixed bugs and improvements include :

• Fix effect stack layout that sometimes prevented accessing some parameters
• Fix a crash when loading many clips and switching project profile
• Further speed increase for audio thumbnails generation
• Reduce memory usage of the automask feature, allowing to create masks for longer clips

Prima video editing programma die bovendien vlot werkt. Op Linux is KDenlive een ‘go to’ als alternatief ook om een oudere systeem ‘up and running’ te houden.

Kan je die toelichten? Het is een videobewerkingsprogramma. Hoe wordt dat gebruikt om oudere systemen up and running te houden?

Ik vermoed omdat het Linux is, je het op oudere systemen kan installeren en deze applicatie hoe dan ook wel runt ongeacht Linux versie.

Oudere pc’s kunnen meestal prima overweg met Linux. LTS versies van Linux gaan nog jaren mee. De combinatie met KDenlive is logisch. De leercurve is niet bijzonder stijl, en alles waar er nodig is aan software is in de basis aanwezig en is open source.

Het is wel aan te raden om vanuit terminal wat commando’s te leren als je wat dieper in de materie duikt.

Ik heb geprobeerd om een oplossing te zoeken voor de standaard waardes van effecten. Die zou je moeten kunnen aanpassen, maar de XML bestanden die daarover gaan kan ik in mijn versie (25.08.3) niet vinden. Dus moet ik bij elke clip, telkens steeds dezelfde 4 instellingen aanpassen (bijv. border van 6 naar 0, pixelate van 20% naar 40%, etc.)

Verder een top programma! Zeker omdat het gratis te gebruiken is.
