Versie 26.00 van het opensource archiveringsprogramma 7-Zip is uitgebracht, een stabiele uitgave. Dit programma kan overweg met een groot aantal compressieformaten, waaronder ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, LZH, CHM, gzip, bzip2, z, tar, cpio, RPM, deb en uiteraard het zelfontwikkelde 7z. Verder is de software in staat om ISO-bestanden en NSIS-installatiepakketten te openen. In deze uitgave is de manier hoe symbolische links worden afgehandeld aangepast.
What's new in 7-Zip 26.00:
- Improved code for ZIP, CPIO, RAR, UFD, QCOW, Compound.
- 7-Zip File Manager: improved sorting order of the file list. It uses file name as secondary sorting key.
- 7-Zip File Manager: improved Benchmark to support systems with more than 64 CPU threads.
- The bug was fixed: 7-Zip could not correctly extract TAR archives containing sparse files.
