Image MountingRescue Media
- The option to mount images writable has been reintroduced for Reflect X. Please note that this functionality mirrors that in previous versions of Reflect and all changes will be lost when the image is dismounted.
- In some cases, dismounting an image could fail to remove the drive letter from Windows Explorer. This issue has been resolved.
Performance Improvements
- We have added new "Boot Media Signing Certificate" options to Rescue Media Builder when building 64-bit PE11. The successful use of these options requires clearing the Rescue Media cache first. To do this, start the Macrium Reflect Uninstall program via Windows Control Panel, then deselect the first 3 checkboxes, then select the "Remove Windows PE Component Files" checkbox and click OK.
- The "On Completion" option set to Do Nothing was not always honoured in the Windows PE Rescue Environment. This issue has been resolved.
- For users who have enabled the Reflect password feature, the Taskbar application in Rescue Media no longer allows unauthorised browsing of the file system.
- On ARM systems, the Taskbar could fail to load with an out-of-memory error. This issue has been resolved and the Taskbar has been given a more modern look-and-feel.
Other Fixes and Improvements
- Reflect now uses OpenSSL for encryption and decryption to further improve security and performance. These changes work seamlessly across existing and new image files and do not affect compatibility between Reflect versions.
- Image file loading times have been reduced, leading to improved UI responsiveness.
- Imaging performance to Thunderbolt/USB4-attached NVMe storage devices in the Windows PE/Rescue Environment has been improved. To enable this feature, set: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macrium\Reflect\Settings DWORD NoDiskThrottle = 1
- Imaging performance over SMB Multichannel-capable networks has been enhanced to better utilize available bandwidth and reduce backup times. To enable this feature, set: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macrium\Reflect\Settings DWORD SMBMultiChannelSupport = 1
- Fixed an issue where Network Root alternatives in the XML definition file were not properly populated, which could result in a Full backup being created instead of an Incremental or Differential backup.
- In some environments, Scheduled Tasks were running under the SYSTEM account even when configured to run under a USER account. This has been resolved.
- Addressed an issue where File & Folder Restore and Search filter operations could fail when the Reflect language was changed between the Backup and Restore operations.
- In rare cases, creating Incremental or Differential images when the Full image was created without a password, and the XML definition file was later updated to include one, could result in incorrect Incremental/Differential files. This issue has been resolved.
- Fixed an issue where the CPU priority setting might not be applied correctly when adjusting the slider at the very beginning of a backup, particularly during File & Folder backups.
- viBoot could fail to detect the active partition in images containing certain MBR disks, resulting in an error. This issue has been resolved.
