Versie 18.0.0 van ShareX is uitgekomen, een bètaversie. Met dit opensourceprogramma kunnen zowel statische als bewegende beelden worden afgevangen, waarna er vervolgens verschillende bewerkingen op los kunnen worden gelaten. Wanneer je tevreden bent met het resultaat kan het worden opgeslagen naar zo'n tachtig bestemmingen, zoals Flickr, Pastebin, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Amazon S3 en Streamable. Ook kan de functionaliteit verder uitgebreid worden met zelfgeschreven uploadmodules om ook dit onderdeel naar eigen hand te zetten. In deze uitgave zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:
Changes in ShareX version 18.0.0:
- Upgraded the ShareX project from .NET Framework 4.8 to .NET 9.0.
- .NET 9.0 is self-contained, so it does not need to be installed separately. However, as a result, the ShareX setup size will be around 100 MB. ShareX
- Windows 7 is no longer supported, as .NET 9.0 officially supports only Windows 10 64-bit or higher.

- History & image history is now using SQLite database instead of JSON text.
- History.json will be automatically migrated to History.db on ShareX startup.
