Betaversie 25 van het programma NewsLeecher is vandaag uitgegeven. De ontwikkelaars hebben de beste punten van programma's als NewsBin en GrabIt als basis voor deze usenet-client. Het resultaat is een programma wat onder andere van meerdere servers tegelijkertijd kan downloaden, ondersteuning heeft voor yEnc-codering en tot maximaal 99 theads simultaan af kan handelen. Deze release kent de volgende wijzigingen:
- Added new 'Smart Select' feature to the active group / server search windows. The feature will select all articles with subject lines partially matching the subject line of the first selected article. (Shortcut is Alt+S)
- Implemented full support for Regular Expression searching when using the active group text search filters. To enable the RegExp searching, go to Options / Advanced and check the 'Use regular expression searches' checkbox.
- Implemented support for NewsLeecher to execute up to 4 configurable command-lines. The command-lines may contain NewsLeecher specific variables and can quickly be launched by using the Alt+F9 - Alt+F12 hotkeys. Usage instructions and examples: http://www.newsleecher.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1587
- Implemented a Poster kill-filter function that makes it possible to ignore incoming article headers posted by posters with specific names and/or email addresses. The filter can be setup from the options dialog under 'Filter' settings.
- The 'Perform action when download queue is empty' feature now ignores 'paused' entries in the queue.
- Articles from servers with wrong message-id's are now treated as 'missing' articles. This will prevent article corruption in cases where there are 2 or more download servers available.
- Many small improvements in this release.
- NewsLeecher didn't calculate the percentage of garbage in the group caches correctly. This has been fixed.
- Fixed bug where articles would sometimes hang in the queue if they were downloaded from groups that didn't exist on low priority servers.
- Sometimes it wasn't possible to stop/start server searches. This should work now. (Didn't get fixed in beta 24)
- Fixed bug (ID:900j209d) (again) - 'Cannot focus a disabled or invisible window' bug.
- Fixed bug (ID:kljlkja). Rarely showed up when receiving group headers.
- Many small/medium bug fixes.
