Met enige regelmaat brengt AMD een nieuwe processordriver uit voor Windows XP-systemen die gebruik maken van een Athlon 64-processor. Ook geheel volgens traditie zwijgt men in alle talen wat er veranderd of verbeterd is. Versie 1.1.0.14 is verkrijgbaar als setup (4,25MB) of als losse driver in zip-formaat (883KB). Beide pakketten ondersteunen vijfentwintig verschillende talen.

Even voor de goede orde: de driver is geschikt en zelfs aan te bevelen voor wie de Athlon 64 op een 32-bits omgeving gebruikt (Windows XP etc.). Cool en Quiet werkt alleen met deze drivers. Hoe stel je dat in?
1. Download de driver uit de thread
2. Zet in je bios Cool en QUiet-support aan
3. Zet in Windows onder Power Options de zaak op Minimal Power Options
Vanaf nu werkt je computer bij normale werkzaamheden op 800 mHz en schakelt vanzelf omhoog als er werk aan de winkel is.
