Opera Software heeft in een press release Opera 7.11 Linux aangekondigd. De nieuwe features bestaan onder andere uit passwordmanager the Wand, mail- en news-client M2 en mouse gestures. Het complete changelog is op deze pagina te vinden, de veranderingen voor finalversie 7.11 zien er als volgt uit:

- Speed optimization when drawing long strings that will be clipped at the end showing an ellipsis (...)
- Avoid X-server or anti-aliased scaling of core X fonts, if the requested size is close to the actual size available

- Modified mid-click behavior to better match what was done in 6.x
- Fixed the drop-down control so that a mouse click on the "down" arrow of the control will not open the drop-down window if it is already visible
- "Open" from right-click menu in document would open link, but Opera would not permit going back to the original page without a reload
- DnD, right-click menu and mid-click activation of a link ignored anchors in URLs
