De Mozilla Foundation heeft een update voor versie 45.2.0 van Thunderbird uitgebracht. Mozilla Thunderbird is een opensourceclient voor e-mail en nieuwsgroepen, met features als ondersteuning voor verschillende mail- en newsaccounts, een spamfilter, spellingscontrole en een aanpasbaar uiterlijk. In versie 38 is onder meer oauth2-authenticatie voor Gmail toegevoegd, wordt de kalender-add-on Lightning nu standaard meegeleverd, en kunnen ook filters op verzonden en gearchiveerde berichten worden losgelaten. In deze update zijn de volgende problemen verholpen:

- Miscellaneous memory safety hazards (rv:47.0 / rv:45.2)
- Invitations to events could not be printed
- Dragging and dropping of contacts from the contact list onto an addressbook while All Addressbooks is selected moved only one contact
- Falsely reported not enough disk space during compacting: fixed
- Links were not always detected properly in the message body (terminated early on "|", some long links not detected at all)
