2Brightsparks heeft een nieuwe versie uitgebracht van SyncBackFree. Dit programma is de eenvoudigste en daarmee meteen ook de gratis uitvoering van de back-upsoftware die dit bedrijf in de aanbieding heeft. Naast back-ups maken kan SyncBackFree data synchroniseren. Dit kan naar een locatie op dezelfde of een andere schijf, of naar een ander medium, zoals een cd-rw of usb-stick, of naar een ftp-server of zip-archief. Naast deze gratis uitvoering zijn er ook SyncBackSE en SyncBackPro, die voor respectievelijk 29 en 46 euro extra functionaliteit bieden. In deze uitgave zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

- Reduced program start-up time when there are many profiles
- Profile settings conversions now protected by mutex to stop multiple SyncBack processes converting profiles at the same time
- If there are profiles in same folder as SyncBack and cannot be used because of access rights then user prompted to export them
- Leading and trailing space characters were being trimmed off when saving passwords and the standard settings encryption was being used
- Custom colours loaded and saved when setting profile background colour in main window
- Installer was putting debug.ini into wrong folder
- SQLite3 Error 21 - library routine called out of sequence.
- File and folder exclusions from Differences window not saved correctly
- Partial selection not shown for all parent folders in file and folder selections windows when a folder untick
- Selections may fail to be used if case does not match
- File and folder selections may not have been converted correctly, will now reconvert
- Windows 10 does not allow a schedule to be created with the Do not store password option unless process running as administrator
