De ontwikkelaars achter Ultimate Boot CD hebben versie 5.2.4 uitgebracht. Ultimate Boot CD is een grote verzameling opensource- en freewareprogramma's die bedoeld zijn voor het vinden en oplossen van voornamelijk hardwareproblemen. De complete lijst met tools is op deze pagina te vinden. De iso wordt als bittorrent- of http-download aangeboden en is 519MB groot. In deze release zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:
Changes in version 5.2.4:
- Modified pmagic1.txt as per Explorer09's suggestion.
- Update DiskCheck to V4.3.0.
- Updated HDClone to V4.3.2.
- Fixed a regression in "\ubcd\tools\linux\syslinux2grub4dos\syslinux2grub4dos.sed" that causes converted grub4dos scripts to be missing the "ubcdcmd" parameter.
- FDUBCD: Updated deltree.com in (FDUBCD/level1/freedos.cab/bin) to V1.02g. Updated jemm386.exe (FDUBCD/bin) to V5.78. UBCD FreeDOS version updated to V1.49.
- Updated ASTRA to V6.04.
- Updated HDShredder to V4.0.0.
- Updated grub4dos to 0.4.5c-2013-05-21 and adopted Explorer09's suggestion to change the border color of the grub4dos menu to match syslinux's by updating "\ubcd\tools\linux\syslinux2grub4dos\syslinux2grub4dos.sed".
- Updated Parted Magic to 2013_05_01_i586. This version fixes the issue of Firefox maxing out CPU, but has a regression in running from RAM. As such, I have commented out that option for this release so that only the "live" boot option is available.
- Updated CPUStress to V2.3.3.
