Software-update: The Bat! 5.2.2

Ritlabs heeft een update voor versie 5.2 van zijn e-mailprogramma The Bat! uitgebracht. Het programma biedt ondersteuning voor verschillende pop3- en imap4-accounts, en heeft een Bayesiaans spamfilter en uitgebreide zoek- en filtermogelijkheden. The Bat! is verkrijgbaar in de smaken Home en Professional Edition, waarbij studenten en non-profitorganisaties korting op de aanschafprijs krijgen. Thuisgebruikers moeten zoals gebruikelijk ook hun International Pack bijwerken. Het verschil tussen de Pro- en Home-edities wordt op deze pagina uit de doeken gedaan. • The recipient's photo is displayed (if available) for messages in the "Outbox" and "Sent" folders

Fixes

• The Internal HTML viewer could not correctly display messages in the Japanese character set
• Some IMAP servers (g.g. Zimbra) cannot handle the ID command sent simultaneously with Login
• The Edition Type (Home/Professional) wasn't displayed in the about box
• Fixes for the Mail Dispatcher list/header view size and the list font
• When a sub-set of folders was restored from the backup file while they had been missing in that account, those folders were created under the account's Inbox folder
• Not all Google contacts were imported into The Bat!'s address book
• The changes to Character Sets (XLAT) were not saved ("Options -> Preferences -> Other options")
• The changes to the character set "Translation FROM Windows" could not be saved (Options -> Preferences -> Other options -> Character Sets (XLAT))
• When an HTML message was loaded for editing, the viewer options were used
• Inline images for the HTML formatted messages were not displayed if system's HTML viewer had been used
• The "Error reading xtSigners.Options: Invalid property value" issue when verifying S/MIME messages has been fixed

Lang geleden jarenlang mijn eerste keus geweest, mooi om te zien dat het nog steeds bestaat! Destijds was het alleen text, geen html dacht ik ;-)

Na jarenlang op versie 3 gebleven te zijn heb ik toch maar eens geupdate naar 5 en geen seconde spijt gehad. Er is nog steeds geen alternatief dat ik acceptabel vind, dus het is z'n geld wat mij betreft waard. Alles kan geautomatiseerd en geconfigureerd worden in dit programma en toch blijft het ook compact en snel.
