Software-update: jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.149 RC2

Het handige programma jv16 PowerTools is aangekomen op versie 1.1.0.149 RC2. Deze software is bedoeld om je computer netjes op orde te houden. De releasenotes laten ons het volgende weten:

What's new:

• Fixed the registry cleaner
• Fixed the sort bug in the registry tool
• Fixed the file tool's troubles with large (> 2-3 GB) files
• Fixed many small bugs from the registry tool and from the file tool
• Updated the documentation

Known bugs:

• The min, max and close window buttons do not work under WinXP SP1 if the visual styles are enabled.
• If you scroll the list of the registry tool at the exact same time the program adds a new item to it the list goes crazy.
• The network features don't work on slow computers / networks.

If you are updating from any version older than 1.1 RC2 you should uninstall the old version first.

Ik heb de registry cleaner laten lopen, allemaal prima. Alleen daarna crashed Trillian constant. Ik heb dit heel snel weer gedeinstalled. Want trillian is de hoeksteen van mijn sociale leven

Gelukkig backup gemaakt van de registry en terug gezet. Trillian werkt gewoon weer. Heb toch nog m'n twijfels over jv16...

As far as I know, no one has ever made a real test to see how different registry cleaners really work so I decided to do it. The test also contains information how anyone can do a similar test. So, if you run a software site or write to a computer magazine, what are you waiting for? I think it's about the time to start comparing how the programs actually work and not just compare the fancy user interfaces.
